Do you want to install Windows OS using your flash drive? If you lost your Windows installation disk or either it's damaged, Don't worry, In this short tutorial we will show you how to make a bootable flash drive without using any software. The process of creating a bootable flash drive is very easy to understand.
If you want to make your flash drive bootable, you will need a Flash drive to make it bootable and make sure the flash drive have at least 4GB for the Windows image files. After you created a bootable flash drive you can install Windows OS on your computer without your Windows installation disk. So let move to the tutorial.
How to Make Bootable Flash Drive Without Any Software
To make a bootable flash drive without using software you will need a Flash drive and CMD. So let get start.
Step 1 : Insert a USB Flash drive into your computer
Step 2 : Open CMD as Administrator
Step 3 : Type in "Diskpart" and hit enter
Step 4 : After that type in "list disk" and hit enter
This will show you all the disk connected to your system with status, size, and free. Now make sure to recognize your disk drive that you want to make it bootable.
Step 5 : Find the disk number of your USB drive and type "Select Disk #" and hit enter
Example : Select Disk 1
Note : # is the number of the USB flash drive.
Step 6 : Type "Clean" and hit enter.
Note : This command will erase all data from your Flash drive so make sure to backup it.
Step 7 : Then type in "create partition primary" and hit enter
Step 8 : After that type in "select partition 1" and hit enter
Step 9 : Type in "format fs = ntfs quick" and hit enter. This will format the pendrive with NTFS file type.
Step 10 : Type "Active" and hit enter. It will make partition active for booting after restart the computer.
Step 11 : Type "Exit" and hit enter to close the diskpart
Now your flash drive has become bootable and you can install Windows OS using your bootable flash drive for free. All you have to do is copy all the Windows setup files and paste to your bootable flash drive directly.
After the copy complete, You can now install Windows anytime by Restart your computer, When the BIOS screen appears then press "F12" key, It will show you the boot options from CD/DVD drive, pen drive, etc... Just select pen drive and hit enter then your system will boot from a flash drive. From now on you can install Windows OS with a bootable flash drive.
